The cost of getting it wrong

A rejected filing isn't free.

Most self-represented filings that bounce don't fail on the law — they fail on a fixable paperwork error: a missing form, an unsigned line, the wrong version of a document. The clerk hands it back, and the clock starts over.

In studies of self-represented litigants, a majority of filings are delayed or rejected over incomplete or incorrect paperwork — the exact class of error a review is built to catch.

We understand

Two people who agree shouldn't have to pay by the hour — or gamble on a blank court form — just to end a marriage on good terms.

We've spent 25 years turning tangled law into plain language people can act on. That's the whole reason this exists — and why you can trust the packet we hand you.

Why you can trust this

From the founder of Peoples-Law.org — the public legal-help site so trusted the Maryland court system now runs it for the state's citizens. A quarter-century of putting the law in plain English. Now built for Florida, with a human preparer standing behind every filing.

The plan

Three steps. No law degree required.

A clear path from "where do I even start" to a packet the clerk accepts.

The Accepted-or-We-Fix-It Guarantee.

If the clerk rejects your JusticeXpress-prepared filing because of a preparation or completeness error on our end, we correct it at no charge and refund your $149. You risk nothing but the few minutes it takes to answer our questions.

Scope: This guarantee covers the clerk's acceptance of your paperwork for completeness and correct form preparation of the documents we prepared. It does not cover the court's final ruling, your eligibility for simplified dissolution, information you entered incorrectly, or court/filing fees paid to the clerk. JusticeXpress is a document preparation service, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. Full terms apply.

Two-minute check

Is simplified dissolution right for you?

Florida's simplified path is the fastest, lowest-cost divorce — but it's only for couples who meet every point below. If one doesn't fit, we'll point you to the right option instead.

  • You both agree to the divorce and to every term.
  • You have no minor or dependent children together.
  • The wife is not currently pregnant.
  • Neither of you is seeking alimony.
  • You've agreed how to divide property and debts.
  • At least one spouse has lived in Florida 6+ months.
  • You're both willing to sign and appear at the final hearing.
  • You both give up the right to trial and appeal.

Before you start

Common questions.

What exactly does the guarantee cover?

If the clerk rejects your filing because of a preparation or completeness error we made, we fix it free and refund your $149. It covers the clerk accepting your paperwork — not the judge's final ruling, your eligibility for simplified dissolution, or details you entered incorrectly.

Do we both have to sign and show up?

Yes. A Florida simplified dissolution requires both spouses to sign the petition and to appear together at the final hearing. It's designed for couples who fully agree.

Are the court filing fees included?

No — and we never mark them up. The county filing fee (around $409) is paid directly to the clerk. We tell you the exact amount for your county.

Isn't the form free from the court?

The blank forms are free at flcourts.gov, and we'll point you there. What you pay us for is the part the court doesn't give you: guided preparation from plain-language questions, a human review, county filing steps, and the acceptance guarantee.

Is this legal advice?

No. JusticeXpress is a document preparation service, not a law firm. We prepare your documents and explain the process; we can't tell you which legal strategy to choose. For advice specific to your situation, consult a Florida-licensed attorney.

How do I get my documents?

You answer questions online and your finished, reviewed documents are delivered to your secure JusticeXpress Vault, with step-by-step filing instructions for your county.
