Upsolve is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a free Chapter 7 filing tool. If you qualify for it, use it — we will not try to sell you something you can get for nothing. The problem is that a large share of Florida filers don’t qualify. This page tells you which group you’re in.
Upsolve’s tool is genuinely free, it fills the forms in for you from a plain-English questionnaire, and a team member reviews the packet before you file. Run their eligibility screener. If it says yes, stop reading this page and file with them. If it says no, come back — that’s the situation we built our kit for.
That is a defensible policy, and they say so openly: they screen out complicated cases so that nobody uses a tool that isn’t right for them. But three of their exclusions land unusually hard in Florida.

Upsolve screens some cases out because software can’t handle them safely. Those same cases are ones a forms kit can’t handle safely either — and we would rather say so than take your $39.95. Get a Florida bankruptcy attorney if any of these describe you:

Not a law firm. Not legal advice. Justice Xpress Florida is a legal document preparation and legal information service. We are not attorneys, we do not provide legal advice, and nothing on this page evaluates your case or recommends a course of action. Whether to file bankruptcy, under which chapter, and what property you can protect are legal questions only a licensed Florida attorney can answer for you.
No affiliation, no referral fee. We receive no compensation from Upsolve and are not a partner, affiliate, or referral source of Upsolve. We link to their free tool because it is free and, for the filers it serves, it is a better option than paying us.
